Re-mortgage - Credit File and Joint Name Query

Hi
I am about to re-mortgage my house as my current offer is about to finish and have 2 questions that i am hoping someone will be able to answer
1) Is it easy enough to add my partner to the mortgage, we will be remortgaging with a different company so is it just a change of name on the deeds thats involved? Do i just progress with a normal re-mortgage application in joint names?

2) I lent a family member £25k, 10k on a loan and 15k over 3 credit cards which has just been paid off and cleared a week ago and the credit cards now closed. My question is how often does your credit file update with information - once a month, as and when credit card statement date was? I want to make sure that when i re-mortgage that it does not show as if I have £25k outstanding when it is now nothing.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Addiny your partner is easy to do and can be done at the same time - there will be a fee involved in doing this transfer or equity

They should show up as settled next month - however I would suggest getting written confirmation that the debts have been cleared and may even chase the companies to up date their records asap
