I have posted this in travel but thought I better put it here as well but apologies if I should not have.
The daily mail is offering a free family rail card which will expire at the end July. This means a discount on adult and child fares. You have to apply by 24th April. At the end of July they will offer you a further 25% discount on purchasing a family rail card.
