Virgin cutting services to North Wales?

Is there a change in the new year with the frequency of direct trains from Euston to Holyhead?

I've been getting the Bangor - Milton Keynes traain for the last two years and have never ever had to be on a train for more than 3 hours or make more than two changes (Chester and if I'm unlucky, Crewe), I looked to book tickets for the 13th of January just now and they're all 5 hour+ journeys with 3 changes - one goes to Stockport, then to Chester, then to Llandudno Jct. and takes just shy of 6 hours :eek:

I know it's a Sunday service but this side of Christmas I can still get home within the 3 hour window with just one change on a Sunday. What's this all about? It would take me less time to drive from Buckinghamshire to Bangor on some trains!

Services on the North Wales route, will start / terminate at Chester.
Alternative route:
The 1055 Holyhead to London Euston service will start from Chester at booked time. Passengers should travel on the 1020 Arriva Trains Wales Holyhead to Llandudno Junction service, calling all stops.
Arriva Trains Wales will be providing onward rail replacement coach services between Llandudno Junction and Chester, calling all stops.
Virgin Trains rail replacement coaches will depart from Llandudno Junction at 1300 and 1400 calling at Chester only.

Ah right, good to know it's a temporary thing, useful site thank you Seems I'm unlucky, best I stay at home for another night then!
