Mortgage fees

We had a homeowner loan, about 6 years ago, provided by London mortgage company. Before we took out the loan, on many occasions we asked how much we would have to pay to pay the loan off early as we knew we'd only have it for a year. But each time they fobbed us of indicating that it wouldn't be a lot. When we did pay the loan off a year later, they charged us £8000+! With the help of the fos, we are in the process of trying to claim it back, along with the ppi on the account. What are my chances of getting it? Given the fact that I've already had letters fobbing me of to different branches of the leman brothers, and telling me there was no ppi on the account at all, when I've paper work to prove there was!

What are my chances of getting it?

Very slim. There have been some ERCs that have had success but they are very few and far between. Most of which go back prior to before 2004 when a few lenders missed off some critical wording on the contracts.

The ERC is considered fair and legal and exists for good reason.
With the help of the fos,

The FOS is not a consumer champion. It will look at your complaint. Will ask the lender to verify details and rule on any wrong doing from there.

FOS are an arbitrator, people often misunderstand what they are there for.
