Can anyone offer advice?
I have a business idea, I think it is a good one (doesn't everyone!!) but don't know how/where to start looking at how I would translate my idea in to a business plan to see if it could be a possibility.
Where do I start? Are there courses/training I could do?
thanks

Where are you based? In Scotland you can get free advice and training from Business Gateway.

A really good book for business planning is the business plan workbook.

If you are under 30 the Princes Trust is the place to go

Good luck0 -
If you are aged between 16 and 30, live in England/Wales/NI and are currently unemployed or working less than 16hrs a week then look at the Prince's Trust Enterprise programme:

If you live in Scotland however you need to be aged 16-25:

If you are over 30 then I'm afraid I don't know where to point you towards!

I have used it to do several business plans and one I presented for my MBA coursework, the tutor said he would personally fund my business based on the plan.
Hope your bank says the same, good luck:) 0 -

Do a search on linkedin for the group Yorkshire !!!!!, they are a very helpful bunch and know exactly what is available in yorkshire for startups.0 -
In Southampton there is an organisation called West Itchen Community Trust who are a not for profit organisation that own property and the income goes towards providing mentoring, coaching, training & support for people with the SO14 postcode area. I know this is not your area but it may be worth a call to see of they have an equivalent in your area.0
