My Morphy Richards Iron has died....can anyone recommend a replacement? I prefer them to be not too heavy, produce good results and be easy to care for - does anyone out there love their iron? Does anyone know which ones Which or Good Housekeeping recommend?
Many thanks

My iron is Philips Comfort 360. I've had it for about 20 years and it's still going strong. I don't know if they still make that particular model, but it's more than paid for itself over the years - better than buying and having to replace cheap models, so it's definitely worth getting another 'name'.
It's the same with my Kenwood handheld beater - I've had that for about 20 years and still use it.0 -
Without a doubt a Tefal steam generator iron. I'm a dressmaker and use mine for work and can't fault it. Don't bother with other brands of steam generators Tefal are far and away the best xGrocery challenge June 2016

I had a cheap iron once. It didn't take long for the thermostat to go wonky and I ended up ruining a skirt. I should imagine a cheap one needs replacing more frequently than a more expensive one. My Philips is over 20 years old, still going strong and has worked out cheaper than buying a cheap iron every few years.0 -

So not too many people are in love with their irons and want to recommend them! Thank you to those that have. Sadly, when I google Philips 360 I only get a shaver (which will not do the required job!) so I guess things change in 20 years! Interesting that a basic Asda iron has two fans.... I will go and look at Philips, Tefal and Asda - the latter is so cheap it would be easy just to buy one and see....Downshifted
