Well, I use as little electric and gas as possible and already it costs me around £65+a month and that is only 2 hours of central heating a day...so yes, I wear hats, scarf and gloves quite regularly...even the lady I talked to at the utility company admitted she was wearing slippers at work...so even they are watching the cost...

...or maybe she wears ridiculous heels to work and is thinking of comfort!

Strange, I. too, thought OP was just giving us a laugh but there's a certain line tha some of us will (or are able to) draw on mse. Personally I wouldn't dream of wearing a hat or gloves indoors, a scarf maybe but then that's my fault for wearing a plunging neckline!:rotfl:

i do quite a frew jobs for my friend so she lets me charge things up at her house for hat very reason.

    Pink thanks

hunters glad i made sum1 laugh, this is what ive been use to for the last 5years, though i dont think your second post was approriate, i dont produce threads to get slated at, n neither do any other of these nice ppl. U will not behave like this on any1s thread, i hope i made myself clear, and thankyou for commenting.

Bitsy Beans, craigywv it took a while to get use to hun, but its how my household is and we would be worse without it, so i dont let it get me down. Even my 7year old enjoys making things stretch and last longer and has started to learn how to sew and knit, so its not bad.

Ben84 lol didnt think of that.

good advice thanks, i do tonnes more but hat normally revolves around free recreation, use up food and stretching toiletries to maximum usage.

Gillybean103 yep it is. I dont just live like this to save money but to also stretch it to last till next money comes in. As Popperwell stated alot more ppl are doing this now, and unfortunately in the uk more and more of these things are becoming the norm amongst the positive thinking of making the most of money.

Popperwell It helps alot though when you get either energy bills or see that your meters not eaten as much money up.

Maman Its helped alot making these adjustments and its been very interesting along the way

I don't know, looking at OP's past threads it seems they are in lots of trouble with money, so this possibly real.

Though the threat in answer to Hunters made it sound even more unreal... And I find it disgusting.

  • Any, ive never had any bother on mse in all the years ive lurked or sinceregistered, but that post was uncalled for. I am sorry if you find my answer offensive but thats life, and ppl cant go one being like that to others. Parts of my routine i do enjoy, and others i dont but i would never ever state past judgement on sum1s genuiness when like Bitsy Beans said, they dont know my circumstances.

Im not ashamed on passing comments but im not taking responibility in allowing that sort of backchat. im off for today now, best get tea on b4 kids walk back.

I don't understand what you find offensive?

    Hunters second post:
"ooh sorry, I didn't know people think this is genuine, doesn't sound like it to me?"

To be fair I wasn't sure whether it is either.
And lots more people on here don't seem to be too sure either.

You can't be surprised after some of the comments.
"made sure I spent a penny, washable toilet wipes and don't flush toilet"...
(wasn't sure whether that was euphorism, you told us you've been for a wee or you were cleaning!!)
    and others....

typical government, we not entitled to anything by a poxy £2.25p a week over the threshold. we get tax credits which goes on childcare, child and childcare element dont come close to pay childcare alone. My DDs are content children despite are day to day life. If it was a joke i wouldnt have posted as its a serious thing to be joking about i think.

fine,. I thought i was being polite stating he phrase "spend a penny" rather than go for a wee. just common sense to use the toilet before leaving the house. Thousands of ppl only flush for a number 2 or smellyness so i know thats not me alone. Toilet wipes i thought sounded nicer than reusable toilet roll, which i dont think actually exists as a roll, hence wipes.

What worried me wasn't so much the making do and mending etc but the fact that you don't have enough food to feed yourself and you go without so your H and kids can eat :(

Is good you clarified about using your friends electricity.

You're kids being in after school care.......is it disability which requires you to return to bed in the afternoon and therefore unable to have kids at normal time?
