My partner and I are looking to open a joint account for our bills and household things to come out of. Can anyone recommend a simple account we could use.
Thanks guys

I think all banks do such accounts. To make things simpler just open another account with some bank that you already have accounts with.0

Have a look at Santander 123 current account if you pay your utilities by DD. Charges apply but DDs should outweigh them.

We use a Santander reward as we get free car breakdown and travel insurance. costs £10 a month but as there is money in the account we get a bit of interest.0

Be aware that if you open a joint account then it will link the two of you financially. So if one of you has a good credit score and the other one of you has a rubbish credit score, it might not be a good idea.
If you open a sole account in either your name, or your partner's name, then the person who's name it's in manages it, then that may be a better option...Indecision is the key to flexibility

It's sad if you have to open a sole one and that one makes and manages the account.
Surely if you are a couple and are in a committed relationship even just living together, there is no point in being together if there is no trust with each other financially.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Please change your mindset that something costing £120 a year is free!knightstyle wrote: »We use a Santander reward as we get free car breakdown and travel insurance. costs £10 a month but as there is money in the account we get a bit of interest.0 -
topcashback or quidco usually offer around £50 or so for the Santander 123 account.0

I don't think its sad at all not having a joint account, we've seen it many times on this forum when things go wrong in a relationship and they split up.
I personally will never have a joint account with anyone ever again.. You don't need to know the full details lets just say it was one of the biggest mistakes of my life.
I don't think it does show that there is no trust in a relationship by not having a joint account.Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -

If you are referring to post #5 I think you have got the wrong end of the stick.
It's not sad to avoid having a joint account if there is a difference in credit ratings. Why crush the credit rating of both people, limiting what they can apply for as a couple, if you don't need to?
Although I do find it amusing how some people seem to base the entire validity of a relationship on whether a couple has a joint bank account or not.0 -
We are with Natwest - everything okay so far!0
