Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

The first mortgage co will not offer a mortgage top - up, of this I am 100% certain.

... now my parents are simply waiting to find our when the baillif will turn up.

I can't help but think that this sort of passive approach is what got them in trouble in the first place. Now is not the time to ask for advice - this should have been done months (years?) ago when it first became apparent that it was difficult to make the payments.

I know this won't help your parents (although there's not much more that can be advised other than that already offered by opinions4u) but to anyone else out there... seek help as soon as you can't make a payment, not when your home is about to be repossessed :(

  • t will take 3-4 weeks for them to process the paperwork. GE were gong to take posession today but due to a mix up this did not happen. Any ideas anyone?????

Bolt the doors and dont answer it. Thats too close to not try and get the loan paid via the mortgage. Tell GE via letter you have the money coming from a finance deal, any proof of that probably helps. They may not have to give any leeway but sounds like its worth fighting, if they can pay anything at all I would include a cheque to just show willing
