Birthday Challenge

OK I'm setting myself a new challenge in the hope it will kick start my debt free lifestyle yet again.
It's my birthday on the 23rd of may and I want to reduce my debt by an additional £250. This is on top of what we already plan to which is £990. I'm going to put the additional £250 towards my Beneficial Visa card which is standing at £753.11, so with the normal payment and the additional amount I should be able to get it under the £500 mark!:j :j
Already started by putting a few bits and pieces on ebay and amazon. :T

Good Idea! Although I do enjoy the treats I get for my birthday, they are normally things I really need like a haircut or new clothes.
I've decided to add to my challenge my Race for Life training plan. I signed up for the Edinburgh Race for Life 5K in February and got my training off to a good start, but the last month I have fallen off the fitness wagon as well as the debt free one. So I'm going to build up to being able to run 5K for the 23rd May.
I've just been out and done the first part of the training plan which was to walk for 1 min run for 2 mins for 15 mins and it wasn't to bad.
Wednesday's challenge is walk for 2 min run for 2 min x 7 times.

Good News already - OH has just received some unexpected royalities, he will use that to pay some bills, which means I can put more into the debt balances!
Happy days! I'll post an update once I know exactly how much extra we have.Debt Total. 17th February 2010 £15,6850 -
Hi, I did race for life last year, loved the training and lost loads of weight! Ran the 5k in under 30 mins too! Also it has helped me keep up a fit lifestyle. Good luck!Mortgage-free wannabe!0

Things on track, I have just got another couple of emails about some music lessons so that is an extra £35 towards my goals! I'm going to do up my travel expenses for work at the end of the month so that will go towards it to maybe another £50?
I've also entered some competitions so although they won't help with this month's challenge they should help in the future months.
Feeling quite motivated today as my cheque cleared for some work I was doing over the past few months, so I have paid £230 towards my bills which brings down the debt total a little bit, to £29,422.43Debt Total. 17th February 2010 £15,6850 -
Just had an email from someone who wants to rent our box room for a week while they look for a permanent flat in Edinburgh! So that's another £50 towards the challenge. So today in total I have located another possible £135 in extra income over the next couple of weeks!
And that's without ebay or carbooting! Things are looking up.Debt Total. 17th February 2010 £15,6850 -

The Lodger has pulled out! But I have just earned £15 for 1 hour's teaching and have another lesson booked in for next week. Also have just sold a book on Amazon so after postage I'm up £4.50!
OH also earned an extra £75 yesterday for covering someone's classes! So we are a total of £99.50 towards the challengeDebt Total. 17th February 2010 £15,6850
