I Would like to compile a list of some cheap meal ideas. i am trying to reduce my outgoings to try and pay off debts quickly!
This week i made a chilli con carne and have managed to eek it out over 3 meals, chilli con carne and rice, chilli con carne and left over rice soup and chilli con carne on jacket potatoes. very pleased with myself!
if you could please post wheat free recipes that would be great, that means no pasta, bread, pittas, egg noddles, cous cous.. etc..
heres the ones ive thought of:
Roast chicken dinner - can also make a soup for lunches from leftover carcass and meat
chilli con carne
cottage/shepards pie
jacket potato and filling
egg, bacon and chips
chicken risotto / vegetable risotto
frozen salmon, new potatoes and veg
beef and veg casserole - usually make enough for 2 days
i have also been bulking my recipes out with as much veg/lentils/pulses as possible, like onions, carrots, celery, corguettes, aubergines, beans, lentils etc
your ideas are much appreciated :T

I made a lovely "chunky chili" the other week. It doesn't taste much like a chili, to be honest, but it made a really nice change.

I didn't bother with the dried tomatoes - not a huge tomato-y person and thought it had enough tomato in there with the cherry tomatoes and passata. I found the cherry tomatoes cheap on offer but I think you could probably substitute for chopped tomatoes if you wanted, to make it a bit cheaper. You could probably roast a few various veggies as the base if you wanted, dependant on what you found at a good price. We found we didn't need nearly as much as the recipe stated - I halved the original recipe for the two of us and had enough leftovers to do very generous lunchtime portions the next day (probably would have done two more dinners really)
I added a bit of paprika for a little bit of extra flavour, it was quite hot but I like my food with a kick!
Here's a recipe for some wheat-free tortillas, may open you up to some more recipes to try, e.g. fajitas (bulk out with peppers and onions, if you need more meat then consider adding cheaper meats rather than more chicken - I often do a chicken & sausage fajita mix for something a little different, I've added leftover strips of stirfry beef to it in the past too!)

Tonight we are having Potato, Onion and Cheese Pie . It tastes best made with lots of onion and not to much cheese . A couple of slices of tomato on top makes it look pretty .0

thank for posting the links, however a lot of them are very 'wheat' based, i.e. pasta, bread etc.. which really doesnt help me.. thats why i wanted to start a new post with wheat free options. thank youDebt Free Wannabe since Sept 2012!
