Lost cheque??!!??!!

Hi, on 3rd April, my ex was visited by the Court Presenting Officer and an SEO when he was hand delivered with the Accounts Breakdown. He gave them a cheque for this month's installment (even though the last one bounced which the Court Presenting Officer was unaware of - lack of communication I do believe).

Anyway, this cheque has not been entered onto their system at all - I called them and they don't know why as it certainly has been enough time. They are trying to find out what was done with the cheque! It looks like it may gave gone missing.

The CPO rang my ex and spoke to his wife and told her that the last cheque bounced and she was surprised (yeah, right!) and was asked if the next one would also bounce, and the CPO was assured that there was money there but it aint on their system yet!!

I have waited and waited to get some money and when some (albeit a tiny bit compared to the amount owed) comes, it gets lost!!!

I feel like screaming!!!

They try and find what happened to it - I shall hopefully find out more on Friday when my case officer calls me!

  • Have a read of this document - not many people know of its existence, including people in the CSA. Either that or they deliberately keep quiet. I used it and got a considerable increase in my compensation.

It's the DWP's 'Guide to Financial Redress for Maladministration'

Ask them what the CPO did with the cheque. Sometimes they pay it into the cash office at their local office rather than sending the cheque to the CSA. It can literally take months for the cleared funds to be handed from the local office to the correct place.....

Hi - I spoke with them again and found that the CPO had forgotton to put something on the back of the cheque (probably the RFA) and so there was a delay. It is now on the system - it was banked on Tuesday and input today. There is no clearance date on it, so I shall have to wait until next week to see if i will actually get the money. But a result at last!!
