Drydens Fairfax re Egg Loan

Anyone any experience with these guys? My Defaulted Egg loan is being collected by them - not sure if they own the debt or are collecting on behalf - it was nearly £30k inc PPI - this was claimed back and with payments etc stands at just over 14k - we are paying about £120 a month off and I want to clear ASAP - any ideas?

So, been paying these guys for around 8 months to the tune of £125 a month - already had 2 payment reviews in that time and they save requested another - they also said their client (egg) may be prepared to accept a reduced settlement - thus debt us easily 8 years old and has been with various DCA for 5 or 6 it now stands at around £13.8k down from £25k (after payments over the years and a reduction due to reclaim of PPI) anyway we have been able to offer 2k as a full and final - what do you rate our chances at ? Anyone any experience of F & F's with these guys?

Is there a CCJ on this? When did you take the loan out? Have you requested copies of credit agreements etc?

Hi yes I have experience with DrydenFairfax unfortunately.
I was paying them via stepchange/cccs for a creation finance loan.
Paid 6 months on the DMP & got a CCJ letter they had initiated from Northamps court.
I sent the documentation back & the proposed £55 per month dmp payment to have that rejected & demanding £889 per month when the original loan payment was only £200pm!!!
Fortunately a relative has helped me settle the full balance within a month so no ccj but I will say that they were very quick pursuing a ccj when there debt wasnt even the largest on my dmp & no payments had been missed.
    Good luck
  • i was unfortunate to have dealings with them too for a creation finance loan of 4k .. they took 3 months dmp payments but then went the ccj out of the blue.. made them a monthly payment offer similar to my dmp payment and this was declined and judgment forthwith wanted for full amount and they informed me they were after getting a charging order granted thats why they would not accept my payment. thankfully a family member offered me 3k and i managed to negotiate full & final settlement at 75% of the debt.. this took several attempts as they wanted 3.5k !! the hardest most difficult company i have ever had to deal with!
