what are you going do with spare money after mortgage is paid off ?

Hi hoping to be mortgage free in a few years ?
not sure what to do with spare money, what is your plans for your spare money after you have paid for your mortgage..

  • Having a month in the lakes then start saving when i get back so i can think about retiring early. :)
  • My Mrs was surprised when I said I planned on saving up for a Porsche 911 after the mortgage!!!

    I would like to save for a deposit for a second house.

  • Well we've been there for 8 months, it simply means that we have been able to nto worry about a mortgage, which gives a lot of financial freedom. However I think it will simply mean we continue saving and save it for a move to our "final house"...
    Feb 2012 - onwards MF achieved
    September 2016 - Back into clearing a mortgage - Was due to be paid off in 32 years in March 2047 -
    April 2018 down to 28.00 months vs 30.04 months at normal payment.
    Predicted mortgage clearing 03/2047 - now looking at 02/2045

    Aims: 1) To pay off mortgage within 20 years - 2037
