Bit of info: Not typical young people (Going out drinking ect) Very much family type, Lad is 19 and in the armed force's and girl is nealy 18.
I have no idea where to start of then - they said they would like a hamper as a couple.
Budget is roughly £10-£20.

  • What about an Italian hamper? Pizza tray for the oven, pizza cutter, pasta, oils, olives things like that? They can then learn to cook new food or try making homemade pizza. You could get quite a lot for your budget.

Failing that a movie hamper with a dvd, popcorn, sweets, drinks or voucher for cinema.
Everything is always better after a cup of tea
  • DVD or film voucher with cola, popcorn, tortilla chips m&m's, etc?

Blanket, cushions/covers, mugs, hot chocolate & biscuits.

A "retro" games hamper with games for 2 lots of mini travel versions available such as connect 4, battleships, guess who, hungry hippos etc.

Non hamper - his and hers robes, or something else his & hers.
Tickets to the cinema or a local comedy club.
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.
  • I have just made a "Night in" hamper with £20 pizza hut voucher, DVD, crisps, popcorn, chocolate and their fave bottle of wine and a wee candle.

Last year I gave them a box with 241 spa day voucher, envelope with train ticket money, two wrap towels with their names ( from ace24) and a bottle of wine

Myself and OH are probs classed as a 'young couple' (21). We'd probs appreciate a night in hamper as stated above ^ although we would prefer a dominoes over a pizza hut voucher ;)
  • Thanks for all the idea's everyone. If anyone has anymore please feel free to add.... x

  • I made a hamper for my sister and brother in law last year. I used the box that I got a thorntons order in as it was decorated with brown swirls and looked really lovely.

I got slippers, a scented candle, bubble bath and lotion, a miniature bottle of wine with a wine glass and some truffles, a little box of posh biscuits and a mug with a knitted cover on for my sister.

And slippers, toiletries, a bottle of beer, posh biscuits and a knitted mug for my brother in law.

I also put in a big box of chocolates from thorntons for them to share.

I filled one side of the box with blue shredded tissue paper and the other side with pink tissue paper, put all the presents on which side they should go with the box of chocolates at the front then decorated with some heart fairy lights (I got them for 2.00 from tesco!). I made sure that the switch was stuck to the outside of the box then covered with cellofane.
:j Comping wins: Gig tickets, Lovemydog tag, Country Livings Christmas fair tickets

Freebies: Redken hair product, Cow teddy, Pebble grey illuminated compact mirror.

    his and hers robes
I like this idea, doable for £20 and very MSE as they will last for years.

  • I'm doing a games bundle for my brother and his girlfriend - so far we've got them Monopoly Revolution ( on offer in Toys R Us and then on 3 for 2!), Mousetrap (we were those poor children who begged for it each year and never got it!) - £3.50 from a local selling page and then a Thorntons hamper and we're going to make skittles vodka and through a few shot glasses in aswell!
