P45 when company goes into administration?

My employer went into administration at the end of October and the first I heard about it was a phone call from the administrators...
We were all made redundant and told that there was no money to pay our salary for October.
I was sent an RP1 form by the administrators to claim statutory redundancy/arrears of pay from the Redundancy Payments Service, but I didn't receive a P45 even detailing my final pay up to September.
I've written to the administrators asking for my P45 but I probably won't hear back from them till next week, so in the meantime, has anyone else got experience of this situation, and did you get a P45?

I would imagine you'll probably never get a p45. The administrators will only have payroll responsibility for anyone the choose to keep on, and the person or people who used to do payroll have probably also been made redundant!
If you get a new job, fill out a p46, tick the "this is my only or main job" box (if this is the case) and then write to the new employers tax office with a covering letter asking them to sort out your tax code.
I had to write to the tax office because the job centre lost my p45, but it would be the same proceess when you don't have a p45 for any reason.Indecision is the key to flexibility0 -
Thanks. I was contracting at the time and have switched the contract to an umbrella company and filled out a P46 with them.
Ironically I'm on more money like this as my contract was for £45 per hour and I was giving it away to my old company, but not any more!0 -
