Should i stay or should i go?

I been offered a new job, it is more money probably alot more stressful but i would have to move away from home.I know people at the new job. The job I am in now, is ok and seems to be ok but the target is 50 a day and I have only just started this week so I do not know how stressfully the job is.If I take this job, my notice period is one month can I leave before my notice period is up or do you have to stay until your notice period is up or they take you to court.

Pro
more money
able to leave home and have a break from my parent
start a pension
I know alot of people in the new job

cons
more stressfully

what should I do?

If you have only just started this week then I doubt that they could hold you to a 1 month contract. However, the issue here is that you've started the new job and by the sounds of it are getting on with people there. Furthermore it's handy for home. I think you know the answer before I need to spell it out.

I've taken higher pressure jobs at greater distances for more money in the past, ultimately if you dread going to work it doesn't matter how much it pays. :(

One or two people on here will delight in giving you dire warnings about being sued if you do not work you notice.

Whilst that is theoretically possible the employer would have to demonstrate that they had actually suffered a financial loss, over an above the saving on your wages, despite making reasonable efforts to minimise the loss.

In the circumstances you describe that is unlikely to say the least.

That said it would be FAR better to negotiate and leave on good terms. You might strike lucky and they tell you to go at once in which case they would have to pay you in lieu of notice!

Do you react well to stress?

You need to look into your pros and cons and weigh up each one carefully.

You'd be making 1 big decision (moving job) and 1 big life decision (moving out of parental home) in a short space of time, I did both once at the same and although it was ok for me it was stressful.

Is the new job near enough so you can travel to see parents? Can you get house-share, maybe through/with (if that'd suit you) the people in new job? I always find it's good to have a support network.

The stressful part of the new job is something that either you'll relish (hopefully) or not.

It sounds as if this might suit you, so I'd go for it, but with support/encouragement from my parents.
