Do you pay tax and NI? I should of thought that you should still get wage slips. How do they pay you your wages? cash, cheque BACS etc?

You should get a wage slip, it will show you show you how much tax and NI you have paid if any

    Hi funmum

Have to be nosey here but what is your hourly rate?

You should still get a wage slip to show your earnings!!

Are the IR aware that you are employed there?

I too work part time, minimum wage and don't get wage slips.

We get paid in cash in those old fashioned brown docket style things!

Everything is above board, but it is a pain in the backside when I need proof of wage for something as really, I could buy my own and put what the heck I like on them.

I'm the same, work 16 hours, get minimum wage and no wage slips. I work in a shop and get paid cash but everything is above board and logged. i recently needed wage slips to claim HB and CTB and my boss now gives me wage slips.

On min wage and only working 16 hours we don't earn enough to pay tax or NI

Though people are legally entitled to a wage slip, if the brown envelope included all the relevant information on the outside then that would meet the needs of showing gross earnings and all deductions.

All mine have on them is my name, the hours worked and what I have been paid.

    So.......

    Ms Shellsuit

    16 hours

    £85.60

If on the odd week I would work more hours, it would have written on it, what tax or NI I have paid, but just for that week. I mean they wouldn't have earnings on them to date.
