because i am getting sick n tired of all these E: ??/?? but opens on ??//?? competition posts, you've either got to hope that the OP will take the time out to bump the post when it becomes live, or even remember and you need make a note of it yourself in case that doesnt happen

not just KatieL but all people who find a comp that opens in the future, need only make a note on a post-it, calendar, email, or task reminder to post it on the date it goes live, that way everyone sees it and can get on with entering it straight away, not hoping that either they or someone else will remember when it does start

i know of at least 50 regular monthly competitions thats will end 31/12 but wont open until 01/12 - should i post them now

E: 31/12 win lots of good prizes [opens 01/12]

    glad you asked now, R U !

  • I understand the point you are trying to make, but it is not a rule - just your opinion. perhaps a kind, explaining PM to KatieL and any other posters who offend you in this way might be more MSE friendly instead of being what could be construed as rude in open forum towards a kind soul who has posted something for you to enter.

Perhaps posters may forget to post entirely if they do not post as and when they find comps because they have busy lives outside of MSE! I for one am grateful that they take the time and effort to share with our community. I don't mind the little effort it takes me to double check comps by end date - instead of having no chance of winning at all.

Everyone uses, contributes and enjoys this forum in their own way and I do not think should be judged by others especially when they are doing something nice.

You can come back with some scathing reply if you like, water off a ducks back to me, I don't mind, and i won't be responding, but I felt something needed to be said on KatieL's behalf as she has put in lots of effort in the past months

Sorry to but in guys/gals but you are constantly bumping the thread and I am getting email notifications! Don't you think it would be better to open a new thread regarding this issue in the Compers Chat Corner, then other MSE users can have their say and maybe this can be sorted.

I do agree that when a thread is started for a comp that is not yet up and running, it means more work for me as I usually have to subscribe by email for any updates and also mark it on my calendar. But I also see why it may be easier for others to post early so they don't forget or have to mark it on their calendars! Comps like the Advents are better off being posted soon as it means users car be selective in the comps they wish to subscribe to/enter. I defo think it is worth finding out other users thoughts - good luck to you both - you both have good grounds for debate!
:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea
