For anyone interested, arch dove and Keynesian Danny Blanchflower is on Question Time.

100 pounds on it that he will slam the BoE, criticise the slowing of government spending and call for vast amounts of QE.

(Edit: that's Question Time not Newsnight)

Jeremy kylle for the chattering classes..

    this week is worth watching..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

    Oh there we go:

...without QE unemployment would be double what it is presently

...chancellor has made the worst economic mistake for 100 years

...worse than the great depression (as I recall people actually went hungry then, in great numbers, perhaps DB should read up economic history).

    Glad I gave up watching.

The guy who gets me is Chuka Umunna. Unsure how he became Shadow Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills. Unfit for purpose springs to mind. Sad reflection on the best people in politics I guess.
