USB drives can be slow and whilst this drive has USB 3.0 I'm willing to bet your computer doesn't unless it is new. I'd personally prefer a network drive that plugs into your router for backing up than a USB one but that's just me

I've got the 1TB Seagate hard drive, only use it for photos and does the job fine.. Its a bit on the bulky side and you have to plug it into mains to use it too, so not just a USB one. Will see what the price comes up for this one0
