Looking for a pension

I'm only young but have been told to set up a pension, eeek! I'm looking online at pension but websites only seem to give tips not actually allow you to compare pension schemes. Can anyone help ie tell me where to go?
Thanks!

https://www.unbiased.co.uk and search for a local IFA (independent financial adviser). Let them do the leg work for you.

The only one I can think of that you can apply online for is the Virgin Pension, but it's likely not the right one for you (its not the cheapest and doesnt have the widest fund choice).

EDIT: I stand corrected, there are seemingly a few that you can apply online for: http://www.money.co.uk/pensions.htm

I'm not sure i'm allowed to show that link (because of being accused of promoting that website, Money get paid unbelievable sums of money when someone clicks thru their site, do not mistake them for 'independent')
  • don't use virgin.

read the mse pension section here:

sign up with Cavendish online or similar as it's cheap and wide choice.
Links are in the article on MSE.

That's a dangerous site to go on to make a full decision. For example, the charges column is misleading as it gives little indication of the full costs involved in investing or how investments shoud be approached. It's just a cash cow for the site getting people to link through to to the pension companies' sites.

That site is a marketing site and not a research site. Some of those pensions are not good quality modern style options.
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.

I know... that's what I said. I was just showing that there are many providers who allow 100% online application, not just Virgin as I first thought.

I have specific experience with Money and they're all about making money... just as it says on the tin.
do not mistake them for 'independent'
