I wanna barbecue-help please :)

Hi,

We would like to buy a barbecue but we don't know which kind to get? Are gas barbecues better than normal barbecues?

Can anyone reccomend a good barbecue at a fairly reasonable price?

Any advice or reccomendations would be great :)

Thanks,

Gas barbeques are very convenient, and to be honest you can put smoked wood chips on them to give the food a more authentic flavour if you wish.

They are bigger and heavier than coal ones and can be a pain when you run out of gas.

I have had both types and as long as you look after a gas one it will serve you well. Wouldn't be without it now

There was a post about Lidl having them on offer around somewhere.

I prefer gas because of the convenience and the food tastes just as good. See this recent thread for other opinions: Gas BBQs

I used to be very picky about cleaning mine.

But then I bought a BBQ brush thingy and now I turn up the heat, brush it like mad and cook away.

    Not posiened anyone yet

No more than you do with a charcoal one. Where the food comes into contact with the barbeque will need cleaned (although my manual says that it doesn't if you heat it up to a high heat before cooking)....saying that I feel better if it is cleaned.
