Does mortgage go to underwriters pre or post valuation?

MA has said 'The mortgage is now just subject to the valuation'.

Do you think this means it has already been to the underwriters?
As I have thought that would come after the valuation?

Apologies if this has been asked before, did search but no recent posts.

Thanks all

Ask the adviser. Generally valuation is done after underwriting but it can be done before.

As stated above, typically they underwrite upfront and then send to valuation

    If you are really asking;-

"Once the valuation is instructed do I have a cast-iron guarantee there will be no further scrutiny of my application?"

The answer is no. The application will be passed back for the valuation results to be added and final checks carried out before it's released for offer.

Then, once offered, it can be routinely audited before completion.

Thanks for this, this site has been so good at telling me how things really are.
I will have 2/3 months between exchange & completion so will be tense time, but hopefully aslong as offer comes in & I don't do anything to change my financial status I can keep fingers crossed it'll all go through fine ;)

So long as everything has been declared truthfully and nothing signifincantly changes in your financial situation you should be fine
