  • Another thing i forgot to mention yesterday is that the broker/agent emailed me the following: -

Good news, your mortgage hasbeen offered now, you will receive a copy of the mortgage offer in the postshortly, after you receive the offer the solicitor will receive a copy and sendyou out your mortgage deed to sign, when this comes can you please let me knowbut do not sign it, it needs to be signed in the presence of a witness who isnot a family member so if you let me know when it arrives i will pop over andwitness the signing of it.

As soon as that is done themortgage will complete.

Is this really neccessary? surely my neighbour or boss can witness me signing?

Your solicitor will advise on the signing of documents. More than just a deed to be sent out. The deed will be near to the end of the process.

You can sign it with your boss, neighbour, friend etc to witness. Nobody related though.
