Tesco and John Lewis claim they are no longer supporting the Samsung Tablet cashback promotion. I've put a thread up about it.

For those who have made claims, how long was it before Samsung confirmed cashback will be paid? We put ours in approx 3 weeks ago but no emails yet

after you guys giving me great advise i was just about to buy the 10inch samsung but now have a concern as a new thread has just been posted saying john lewis and tesco have removed the cashback deal with samsung...i was going to buy from tesco as cpw have no stock x

Just ordered a black / silver one from CPW - back in stock on website and free next day deliver too (which I imagine will be Tuesday now).

White out of stock still though.

Be careful with Carphone Warehouse, they use Yodel. I ordered a phone on the 5th supposibly on next day delivery it is now the 16th and it still has not arrived.

Yodel are the worst courier service.

Every other item I have ordered from elsewhere has arrived by other couriers

Personally how ever good their deals are I am not ordering anything else from Carphone Warehouse after this.

I picked up a versus the other day for my nearly 5 year old. Not sure if they are still available. It seems a pretty decent basic tablet and the size supports a young child. I not too sure about the tab 2 yet as I have got one but not going to open it it as I'm waiting on £150 on various cashbacks from Samsung.

Got a 10 inch IPad one though and would say that if a teenager is going to use a tab long periods then something bigger and better than the Versus is best if you can afford it.

Viewing angles on the versus isn't great and stocking browsing can be laggy. At the same time YouTube, iplayer and the games I downloaded work fine.

It's an adequate tablet but I suspect the Samsung will be much better for sustained use if it can be afforded.

Bought the Tab 10.1 on the 13th November from Tesco Direct. Made a note in diary of the date I could apply for the casback. Online form was a pain in the proverbial. As others have said, it asks for details they have on the box but then didn't accept it. Was very difficult to get it to accept the item I was claiming on. Eventually submitted it with a scanned copy of my Tesco Direct confirmation email attached. It clearly states on Step 2 of the 10 steps that is an accepted receipt. Today 16th December I got an email saying I hadn't supplied a valid receipt and to resubmit it. I phoned Tesco Direct who said I was the 3rd person today to query it. He consulted his supervisor who checked it out and said they had to accept the email as that is the receipt you get when buying from them online plus it is clearly stated on Samsung's own online form.

I have resubmitted via email the scanned confirmation and informed them that I will phone tomorrow to check they are using the 13th November is the date they are using or I can see another 3-4 weeks before they come back and tell me I have invalidated my claim because the time limit has expired.

Maybe I am being unduly sceptical, but this seems to me to be a strategy to make us forget/give up our cash back claims

Incidentally - the tablet has an operating system 4.1.4 which is not compatible with Adobe Flash. This is required to download the online manual for the Tab doh! It has taken 3 emails to get them to post me a paper copy of the manual, offered to me in their first response but which wasn't forthcoming till I got really tetchy about it.

I think all this could do with someone with clout to look into

I did wonder the same because most companies post offers on the basis that 90% of buyers don't follow them up - I just did a PDF print of my email receipt from tesco so hope I don't get the same stall - legally they have to "perform" their half of the agreement provided they get evidence of purchase - but who's going to take Samsung to court for not performing?
