Remortgaging equity

Hello
I have just inherited my Nan's house as a residuary gift. I have to pay out a small sum to other benefactors and would probably look at trying to raise 50000 against the sum of the house (approx. 130000) does anyone have any tips about what type of mortgage/where I should look in particular please?

Thanks in advance

  • You'd be better to post this on the main mortgages board rather than the diary me. There are several brokers over there who should be able to help.

Without knowing more details (LTV, your income, whether this is your sole home and you'll live in it or rent it out, whether you have any other debts or credit issues etc). Other than that I'd say have an informal chat with the mortgage advisor in your bank as a starting point.
I'm a qualified accountant but please make sure you get expert advice as any opinion is made in a private capacity.
