I got the same email. Seems like it is a widespread problem:

Thanks for that!
I'm glad it's not just me. Looks like we probably won't know what the real issue is then. Oh well.
Thanks for everyones replies.

I found I was logged out this morning and was asked to change my password so I did. Maybe it was their fault as it seems strange so many of us had similar probs:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

I had it too. I have used twitter regularly for three years and have never had this happen before.0

If its any help, I only use Twitter for competitions and the only 'app' I currently use is competwition. I've not been affected by this problem so it looks like competwition wasn't the culprit!Back to comping after a few years out! Good luck everyone :beer:0

Yes, I too only use Twitter for comps - and really only to share and enter the comps posted up on MSE. I never look for comps on it or interact with other on it simply because I don't really like it (too fast moving) The only app I use is Competwition?:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

https://twitter.com/settings/applications
If you go to settings and applications as link above you can revoke access from any app have a clean out and when you try entering a comp you can give back access

Just had the same.
Didn't think any companies asked you to click on a link in an email any more so deleted it, then found it was genuine:o
All that showed as having access to my account were competwition and all the daily mag shares - revoked access on all of them but guess there is no need"If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you. "

I had it too - looks like you shouldn't worry too much twitter made an error resetting too many people although to be safe I would change my password anyway

This will answer everything for you guys it has nothing to do with your compingAn unknown number of Twitter accounts have been “compromised,” the microblogging service revealed Thursday morning. And in its efforts to inform users, Twitter has turned a small problem into a doozy.
“We unintentionally reset passwords of a larger number of accounts, beyond those that we believed to have been compromised,” company spokeswoman Christina Thiry told FoxNews.com, repeating a statement posted on the company blog. “We apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused.”
In other words, your account may have been affected, or it may not have -- but in either case, you should probably reset your Twitter password.
When asked if Twitter was hacked or if this was a security breach, Twitter said no. The company told FoxNews.com it resets passwords routinely to protect users for a variety of reasons.
Twitter declined to provide the exact reason in this case.
