should I transfer a private pension into civil service

I have recently taken up employment in the civil service. I have a pension from my previous employer built up over 7 years. Should I transfer this existing pension into the CS pension or leave it? What are the Pros and cons?

Which option have you calculated to be the best?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. What type of pension did you have with the previous employer?
What benefits did it offer and when could you take them?
Are the benefits on offer from the Civil Service Scheme superior?

How many years of CS pension will you get in return?0

I haven't checked yet which option will be better for me, I was just checking, in general, the pros and cons of integrating the two policies and whether a CS pension is considered better. My existing pension is Standard life policy which was run along with the company I worked for.0

You have a defined benefits option with the Civil Service?
