That was from Poole to West Brompton (London). So not far at all.
DD2 has been struggling to find cheap train tickets for her trips home from uni this term. She comes down from Stoke to Poole. Earlier this year she got some really good deals using her Railcard but even though she looked really early as knew the dates this time she has not managed to find the same sort of deals.hampydoodums wrote: »I seem to remember seeing one of Martin's programmes recently where he was helping people buy tickets at a railway station in London. He suggested that they split the journey by buying 2 tickets at the station from where you're travelling from, but to look at the whole journey before you leave and see where there was a change of trains somewhere along the route or a main stop. For example, in your case, buy a ticket from Stoke to the stop or change on route, then buy another ticket from that stop to the final destination, ie Poole. Sometimes you don't even need to get of the train as you will have 2 valid tickets. People were saving up to £40.00 per journey! He called it splitting the journey. Thanks guys. Forgot to include the link to the train-fare splitting app. It's here.
It's available as a website for Android pohones too IIRC.

Saw the Coke Truck, no mocs they were giving out a free can (150ml) but insisted they open it in front of you, so no chance on stocking up
You could have your pic taken with it so ok for the little ones, Santa was there too. I had a word and asked for a glitch every day for the next year and promised to be good :A:rotfl:
Is the pic of you and Santa to follow? Ducks flying objects:rotfl:0 -

Ridiculous, its unbelievable what they come out with
I had mine taken off me  in which case the ice creams had to go back. I was even accused of ripping the coupons n leaving the mags behind which I never do. I prefer to take mine home n have my 4yr old DS cut em out for me:D I must admit he does a very good job too. I was thinking of complaining but thought it is better not to raise my profile.
note to others plz don't rip coupons out n leave mags behind. Ta.0 -
Yes lovely. Got up about 10.30. had tea and cereal. Now started E-Bay in my PJ'S. For the 2nd night running I was awake about 3.00 a.m. but just had a small drink of squash and went back to sleep. Sis rang to say she is coming over later to cook Mum lunch and invited me aswell. I might be cheeky and ask her to drop me a plate in to eat later. She is a chef so it will be nice. Then this evening Rookie Blue, Homeland, and X Factor and maybe some chocolates. I have Milk Tray, LOB, G&B, Bendicks, Elizabeth Shaw and York Fruits to choose from. No wonder I am overweight. Still I have decided to join the gym and go every morning when the social are at Mums as I dont have to go so early now. DS is getting married next September so need to lose at least 2 stone by then. I may go back to Slimming World after Xmas too as I did really well last time.
I treated myself to a lovely 40 inch tv and Sky HD in the summer when I sold some Jubilee goodies I was given when I helped sis at the Jubilee Concert catering and I made enough to buy the TV outright. I don't smoke , drink or go out so I think I can justify it.
My DD has just started a Hair Extension business and had to go to Keynsham yesterday and dropped me at Longw==l Green Asda to do my exchanges. Her friend said thats a bit mean dropping her at Asda and my DD said no it's not my Mum is in heaven in a supermarket.
Taken on board your comment about PJ'S all day and think I will do the same. Have a nice day and thanks for thinking of me:T
