    for once we agree locarr:eek::eek::eek::T:T:T

    well update is :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: at argos

    CS rung the store who said they suspect the watch (which is not the faulty item) is more than the 2 weeks old after inspection, What the??:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

    Had a polite rant at CS, firstly it isn't I have proof of purchase, further to accuse me of this is even worse than my original. Secondly even if it theoretically was older the items are covered by a warranty for a year so my statutory rights are still not affected. I am still entitled to a refund.

    CS was confused to say the least, she added "store said they usually cross check signatures with Debit cards" after previously telling me herself it wasn't policy. She seemed to be totally dictated to by the store and incapable of making her own decision, complete opposite experience of Tesco Cs who override and deal with their staff and training issues.

    after 4 phone calls to the store (each one after me making valid counter arguments to the bull she was coming out with) I advised her she obviously couldn't help at all and I didn't need a go between to retell me what the store had already decided. Told her I would write in. 20 minutes later she phoned up to say she should have just offered me a giftcard for the refund of the original amount but the complaint would still hold.:(:(

    I accepted but in retrospect wouldn't have, just worried I am stuck with a broken stopwatch.

    shoddy customer service:(

    this is why i would have told a white lie they did it so why culd you

    i dnt want a row as im sure people do things on here all the time that are a grey area but dnt say on here , for fear of being shot down ,

    Not necessarily someone at head office, could be anyone in a store, on delivery or even in the petrol station.

    or even the printing firm that printed the leaflets ;)

    Not sure why you feel the need to encourage the OP to lie?:eek:

    I never saw her mention any of the bold text in her post!

    Not needed, IMHO. This incident would try the patience of a saint. A firm polite factual letter is all that's needed. Usual formula, first sentence saying what you want to achieve, and the last sentence stating an apology is expected (not demanded).

    I'm grinding my teeth reading about it, but the OP is so clearly in the right, she should get what she wants anyway. If not, God help us all!:mad:
