Ok I know it's the Daily Mail but have a look at this article. Simply breath taking especially the penultimate one with the apes.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2233048/Almost-human-Photographers-intimate-studio-portraits-wild-creatures-making-unnervingly-similar-gestures-us.html

I used work for that photographer, it certainly was interesting work sharing an office with all manner of creatures on shoot days. You definitely didn't want to look at the monkeys funny, they would start throwing chairs :o The stories I could tell!

He's also done two beautiful glossy coffee table books, one on horses:

    and one on dogs:

good morning all:). quite happy this morning- before going to bed last night i checked the lego deals thread and saw that the forest police station was on offer on amazon for £28 (rrp £69.99) so quickly ordered it, had my email confirmation at that price, looked on amazon this morning and it is now on offer at £48 :D
  • Some amazing photos there. I didn't like the featherless chicken. The article said they were specially bred to be featherless. :(
I think chickens need their feathers!
I loved the bat photo and the orangutan's hand.
I guess these animals are zoo animals as the article says they were photographed in a studio?

Sometimes they are zoo animals but sometimes they are people's pets or rescue animals. With the bigger ones you have to build a studio around them as they would be uncomfortable if moved, if you think about it, uneasy animals would not make good photos, particularly if you are trying to capture their "humanness". IF they don't like it they soon tell you! He did some with giant african bullfrogs, they are the size of dinner plates and very delicate - the handler said to me "don't drop them as they explode"

so lovely to see your early bird posts Westie are you off on your bike ride .

Yip, just finished my last half hour stint. Though I don't physically go anywhere other than the imaginary journey my mind allows whilst watching the dawn break on another day :)
Something unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.

Ohhh for years I have thought I was all alone glitching in East Leeds, I'm glad I'm not :j

For those using Killingreck sada I had a small trouting in there yesterday. I used an £11.00 APG and the trout on the till made a call to a supervisor muttering she couldn't accept it because it was too high and special checks need to be done.

Anyway the supervisor told her over the intercom to accept it and she started to argue with the supervisor. Supervisor came over (un amused and said everything matches so it's not fake and to stop wasting every bodies time lol)

So I don't think we'll run into major problems in that store :rotfl:

Party time in the new year it is then!

Until this week I thought I was on own here but know there are many more lurker socs the offers are cleared out when you get there often. Great for sharing or hunting ig we can co-ordinate!Thanks will be calling in A at K on way back from Jimmys if MT still on - hopefully will have remaining triggers left - and hopefully Mrs Trout will be off duty. Then off for dairy shop and Andrex - still awaiting pp but not been 24 hours.

Got to be hard on the guys if they are being told it affects their bonuses. Most have been really helpful - but a couple have got frosty once they see apg - especially if shop no 2 on conveyor belt.

Also hope to get an elf bath (fingers crossed at Crossgates) - don't ask!
