60.8% APR - OMG - Wlecome finance - been there done that but my rate was 24.9% and I was pig sick about that.

You need to concentrate on one debt at a time. Pay off the minimum amounts on everything except one and throw every bit of spare cash you can at that one particular debt. I only joined here in the middle of January and so far have managed to pay off my Next Account and my Vanquis Card and I'm aiming to get the Argos card paid off by the end of June.

Is there absolutely no way you could earn some extra money?

Hi Kay. It's very MSE to get a second job like bar work, or working at the weekends (check with the local supermarkets), to fit in with the full-time job.
Many of those people you see stacking shelves are MSE-ers who are paying off the high performance cars and glamourous wardrobes!

Hi and welcome - you will get lots of tips from people on here.

Just a thought - whilst living at home , could you not get a bar job perhaps? or if thats not to your liking what about a saturday job instead?

An extra string to your bow so the saying goes - and when all the debts are paid you are free to give it up or carry on and save the extra towards a holiday........

Do you have any ccards you could balance transfer your welcome loan onto? Even a ccard wihtout offers will have APR's way lower than 60.8%. I am assuming you have used any savings towards your debts.

Also do your parents know about your debt? As others have said most parents would do whatever they can to help. If they are in a postion to help you could set up a spreadsheet to montior how much you owe them and repay them plus the interest they would lose while you borrowed.

    Hello Kay

Great tips from the others, you should also join the weekly challenges, i.e. you set yourself a target on how much you're spending during the week then see if you can stick to your budget.

How much exactly is your debt?

Good luck, by following people's fab tips i'm sure you'll be on your way to becoming debt free.

More info on here & here on the value of Kays debts. This might be helpful to other MSErs who are good at reordering loans.

Hi Kay, welcome to the board.

I know it seems like an uphill struggle at the moment, but I can't really see it being too long before you're back on track. I felt the same as you only two weeks ago and since being on here it has really helped me focus and people will just keep giving advice.

    Well, here's mine!

Could you post the total amount owed on cards and catalogues etc, then we could all see which one is best to shift first.

Bloody bf's, mine accounts for the £6k of debt I have, but heh, we live and learn!!

I also work full time and the last thing you want to do is another job, sometimes you can end up no better off. Have you thought about becoming an Ann Summers party organiser, you can work as little or as often as you like, I just recommended it in another post. It can be quite good to make some extra cash.

Ebay is definately a good thing to do, might seem like a bit of a pain to begin with but I made £150 the other month which was a great help!! You have to be ruthless at times though!!

There is a way out, trust me, you're in the right place.

    Good Luck!!

    Hi Kay,
There have been loads of great ideas already but is there any way that you can walk/cycle to work or liftshare with someone with a car who will be travelling anyway?? This could save you over £500 a year. Also, once you hit August you will definitely be saving money from your mobile - you WILL get rid of this debt - Best of luck - Just keep checking the site and you will be inspired.
