No joy so far. Even had to go into sports direct to ask (yuck - feel grubby now!!).

BUT the email to head office paid off. They have an old style monkey I can buy. :)

  • Ahhh no - Really hope you get it back or find a replacement. My 1 year old loves a sheep toy and would hate to be with out it, so I think I'll see if I can buy another now - just in case! x

  • This happened to me and one of my siblings when we were children. We mislaid a certain soft toy when playing in the woods. This toy really was (and still is!) a member of the family rather than just something to play with.

It was horrible. He had been won at a raffle and wasn't sold in the shops. My sibling was distraught and I was racked with guilt trying to remember if it was my fault that we had lost him. I remember going out and searching for him for hours.

Our parents went to great lengths - this was before the Internet - and tracked down the company that had made him. And the company sent him back - I don't think the company even charged. Of course we knew that he was new and not exactly the same as he had been before. But he was the same inside - over time he even ended up with the same signs of wear as he had the first time around.

I feel sorry for the lady who let slip the secret about the switch of her daughter's toy - I can totally understand the daughter's reaction! And as for the girl with the 'blanky', as long as she isn't dragging it everywhere with her sucking her thumb like Linus from Peanuts, I really wouldn't worry!

Congratulations on finding the monkey again! :T

She does! As I type this she's watching TV; thumb in mouth with snuggles gripped in the same hand and stroking the bottom corner of it with her other hand. I'm going to try and get her to give it up when she turns 8.
