DD's lost toy

tell her the toy is hiding because it wants teddy to have some extra hugs. change the toy every few days, then stop mentioning it so much.
I do agree with asking at the shopping centre's biggest store - they will tell you where stuff gets handed in to.
( ps sorry if this doesn't tie in with other answers, but I was never a fan of letting my DD get overly attached to one particular teddy - as they do go missing - or are nicked like my DD's teddy in Ikea!!)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

There have been several successful Facebook campaigns regarding lost/found cuddly toys.
If you have no luck with retracing your steps, you could try starting your own page on Facebook.

M&S don't sell them anymore, but luckily someone on ebay had a few.
Hope it all works out OP.
A friend of mine had to buy a spare pink hamster on ebay after her daughter's absolute favourite went astray. Much fuss was made about the kind person who had "found it, and washed it before returning it"
New hamster now stays at home. They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.

There is a great book called Ratty Tatty
All about a lost bunny.
They hunt high and low, can't find it.
They then talk about all the adventures it is going on and it arrives back looking a bit different.
That is then your cue to get a slightly different looking one.0 -
Oh I feel your pain OP my youngest has a teletubby toy that he has had since he was less than a year old and he still sleeps with it every night and he is 7 now.
I really hope you find it I would also try retracing my steps today if possible, I often see teddies and baby shoes that people have stuck on a fence or wall if they see them laying on the ground so you may well be lucky.
I hope your little one is OK.1 Sealed Pot Challenge # 1480

My son's blue teddy is pretty minging it has to be said, despite the fact I stick it in the washing machine at least twice a week!
OH said maybe people who do bad things come back in the next life as a much loved toy to be chewed, sucked, chucked about and dragged all over the floor, as a punishment! :rotfl:Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Just to say that your DD might surprise you and not be as upset as you are anticipating. She be upset but only for a few seconds and then be delighted with something else.
It happened to my DD and I thought the world had ended. She was a very poor sleeper, and would not close her eyes with her toy so was absolutely dreading the coming nights. I explained to her that it had gone to another baby who needed it desperately and that it meant she got to chose a new one of her choice. She shed a few tears but before I knew it, she wanted to go and get another one and as soon as she picked one, the old one was forgotten. I was totally surprised, but now see how it does match her personality, always looking ahead however attached she is to things.
I hope this is the case with her other favourite cuddlies should any ever go walkies. It's just that this one is used for the classes so there will be a weekly reminder that the toy has gone IYSWIM.

Thanks for all the replies. There isn't a central customer service desk at the retail park so I'll have to ask in the shops themselves I expect. Going to do that this afternoon.
No joy on ebay etc. Have e-mailed the teacher to ask whether she has any of the old toys knocking around.
If all else fails ill have to get the book and a new style toy.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
Which toy is it? Maybe the rest of us could have a google for you and see if we can come up with anything?
I was worried about exactly this scenario when LO started to get really attached to one toy... so we bought a second. We alternate them as they need washing so they're both getting dirty at the same time. So far she hasn't noticed...Mortgage when started: £330,995

You could try asking the other mums at the classs as well, or your local Freecycle or similar groups - there might be older brothers/sisters who bought the toy but don't use it any more.0
