Sheepskin gone shiny

Any ideas? Have cleaned my sheepskin boots with ugg cleaner but one boot has gone shiny, thought I had left cleaner in as the foam still from them was unreal, now they have dried they look wrecked, the sheepskin is no longer black just a shiny greyish colour. All I can think is I've rubbed everything away, is there anything I can try to save them? A suede brush is not helping.
