Previous employer is still paying me in my old pension scheme?

Hi all,

I left my previous employer about 4 months ago, and in the pension scheme I had with them I can still see contributions coming in after I left. I wrote the HR manager (we're in good terms) about that a couple of months ago, she said that she would check that and get back to me - although she never did that. I sent her other 2 emails (one last month, one this month) as I still see payments coming - but no answer.

If they realise they are paying me something I'm not entitled for is there a chance I have to pay them money back out of my account? I'd be OK if they deduct that money from the fund - but I definitely don't want them to claim money back from me providing that I have to pay that from my bank account. Also I was planning of transferring my funds to my new pension provider - but I'm not sure whether with this pending situation this is a good idea.

What do you think I shall do?

Thanks!

With most group schemes, there is a period where extra employer contributions can be recalled from the pension.

Do not transfer the pension yet. Once that link is broken, the new pension provider will not be able to return the employer contributions and you will out of your own money. Tell them again they are still doing it. Keep a copy for yourself on file. Once you have told them a number of times and can prove it then it becomes harder for them to enforce any refund out of your pocket.
