Made an offer - now what?

Hi hope someone can help my son, he has had an offer accepted on a property.

He has a mortgage in priniciple, should he continue with the mortgage application i.e. arrange surveys etc even though the vendors have not found a property yet? he is worried about additional costs should they not find anywhere and pull out.

Also is the mortgage arrangement fee refundable should the purchase not go ahead

I would advise a client not to proceed too far into a mortgage application if the vendor has not yet found an onward purchase.

No way of knowing if fees are refundable. You've suggested neither a lender, nor a product, and this would determine the answer.
