Barclays online banking error code 1172

Hi everyone,

I opened a Barclays account post BR and it's been fine for the last month. Just went to log on to the online banking last night and I'm getting an error code 1172 and it won't let me in!
I managed to dig up an old thread about this but it was some years ago (won't let me post a link).
Has anyone got any recent experience about this? Do they still lock you out of online services when you're undischarged? It's a real pain, it's so long since I banked any other way! I'm going to go into the branch this morning and see if they can help and sort out managing direct debits etc. but it's going to be a real hassle as I can't always get in to the branch so easily.

Also disappointed with Barclays as they've been great other than this.
Anyone got similar stories?

The majority of undischarged BR have not been able to use online banking with barclays, that is where the Co-operative Cashminder has the advantage because they do. Unfortunatly if you are not already a Co-op customer you would not be able to open a Cashminder account now though as you are undischarged. Once discharged it is well worth a try though.

stupidly yep your unable to use online banking while undischarged.....once you are discharged go into your local barclays with a copy of your discharge notice and they'll remove the marker & in theory all should be then available
