Are the online Civil Service Competency Questionnaires - the ones that give you a behavioural scenario and you have to rate your likely responses from 1 to 4 (what's most like you, least like you etc.) - marked by a computer?

I ask this because I read somewhere that whatever answers you give in these questionnaires are matched to a benchmark template, and whatever you score has to match the accepted scores on this template, otherwise you are deemed "unsuccessful".

As its a lot cheaper & quicker to get a computer to do it than a human.

Also a computer can't be biased unlike a human

Yes. They are marked by a computer but the system of marking is just done a lot faster than a human who would be following the exact same calculations. So you can't blame the computer.
