No wage slip?

I recently started a second job for a cleaning company to help with Birthdays and Christmas expenses etc.
The wage isn't much but anything helps these days. I started on the 11th of October and work 6 mornings a week 9.30am - 11.00am. The first couple of weeks I was on £9.68 per day but it was increased to £11 per day when the person I worked on 3 of the days left.
I am paid on the 5th of every month and received my first wage yesterday.
I only received £141 in my bank after working 22 days of the month but I have no idea how many days I have been paid for or how much tax I have paid as I haven't had a wage slip.
When I asked my Manager when and how would I receive my wage slip his relpy was 'usually by act of god'? I told him I need it so I can check everything is right and he said, 'leave it with me and I'll see what I can do'.
I'm not happy about his attitude regarding this as I presumed a wage slip was a legal requirement from your employer. Not only that but myself and my partner are on a DMP and therefore I need my payslips for the yearly reviews.
Does anyone know if my presumption is correct and what can I do as I don't want to be asking for a payslip every month?
Thanks

You should recieve an itemised pay slip at or before the point your wages are paid.

You have a legal right to a payslip, and not having them is often a sign that something is up. When I had trouble getting them from a well-known national employer, I was also having my wages systematically and illegally docked.0

1 how much were you expecting?
2 is the job legit and not just cash in hand?
3 how big is the company? is there a separate HR you could call?0
