Mortgage application... Experian check

Hi again,

Just an update on our application to Natwest for a 75% LTV 2yr fix with a quick question please!

We've been informed that they are happy with the proof of ID, addresses and gifted deposit, income etc and are now awaiting the transcript of the Home report refresh (it was two weeks out of date) and that the offer should be issued shortly after this.

When I looked at my experian report, the only record is a 'Generic Identification check' from RBS... does this mean they've not yet fully checked me yet?

As far as I'm aware RBS and Natwest are part of the same banking group so probably will be them.
  • im applying with Halifax, they have searched my credit report twice yesterday, it says :
    searched by: halifax mortages
    application type: first mortgage

now halifax are def linked to royal bank of scotland so dont know why yours would say that if its natwest? but halifax doesnt show that?

Halifax, or HBoS group has no connection with RBS. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lloyds Banking Group.

RBS owns NatWest, among other subsidiaries and they share mortgage admin facilities AFAIK.

    Hello

When I applied for my Natwest mortage in September, Natwest did a full credit check on me for an AIP. A few days later they did a generic check. As far as I can see since the offer (October 17th) they havent done any further checks on my report. There wasn't any RBS info.

Halifax are linked to the Bank of Scotland, not RBS. Nat West are.

Official word is 'there are no further underwriting issues' just awaiting the valuation!

We never received an AIP first, straight to full app! So confused why no search showing yet!
  • So does mortgage go to underwriters before or after the valuation?
