Furniture protection purchased through MFI in 2008

Hi, first post - not sure in the right place, please advise if not.
In 2008 I bought a new kitchen from MFI. They happily sold me furniture protection at over £230, then MFI proceeded to go into liquidation.
The only reason I am posting is the other day I saw an add from a lawyer/compensation firm stating that they can get back money if you have been sold similar protection etc and the firm has then gone bust. I didn't get chance to get the name or phone number as I only caught the tail end but if I could get what I have paid out back for Christmas then this would be a great bonus as I had pretty much said goodbye to it along time ago. The kitchen is still in place but I have obviously had to pay for any repairs on the kitchen since I was no longer covered. Can anyone please help me with the name of a similar firm or what steps to take next. Many thanks

Do you have a copy of the insurance documents.
Are you sure that it is MFI that insured it and not an outside insurance company.
I had a suite insured, and it was a third party ins. company not connected with the company I bought my suite from.
Cant see anyone getting any money back for you, who would they get it from is what I am asking myself.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
