I need to convert a 60x70cm piece of material to ins. Have tried the conversion tools but I'm getting lost there. Nearest measurement will be fine.

This one seems quite simple.

Hello georgiesmum
60 x 70cm converts to 23 and a half inches x 27 and a half inches

You can just type "60cm in inches" into Google:

If nearest measurement is okay, the quick method that I use is to divide the number of centimetres by 10 (ie: move the decimal place one point to the left, so that 60 becomes 6.0) and then multiply by 4 (which in this case gives you 24).
This is both easy to remember and to work out, and can be done without the aid of a calculator - much to the surprise of the younger members of my family! lol (Well, there has to be some benefit to being of the older generation!)
If it's cheap, I'm cheerful!0 -
When I am out shopping etc I always just use 10cm = 4 inches. It is a rough measurement but usually good enough for me unless I need a really accurate answer.0
