Perhaps Madison needs to pass through a probation period? If so, then IVA is not feasible on the basis that the employer can simply dispense with her services at the end of said period.

If the new employment is cast iron guaranteed with no probation or trial period at all, then a written confirmation should suffice. If they have looked at the IVA as the first option and it isn't viable then it doesn't seem as if they have done much wrong in this instance. Whether madison wants to look at the temporary DMP with them, or with anyone else for that matter, and then look at IVA when she has 3 months wage slips and has passed any probationary period, is up to her.

Agree gd2 but perhaps one that does not charge a large up front fee would be better

That's fair enough, but also in fairness to them they have waived some of the fee and I am told by people in the know that in instances such as this they will allocate the 1st DMP payment to the IVA once it goes through, which means that they don't profit from a temporary DMP in the same way that other companies would. Seems reasonable if that is the case.

    Hi

What happens if the IVA does not go through, do they get their money back?

What happens if the IVA takes longer to set up?

With the free DMP providers CCCS (Stepchange Charity) & Payplan or Self Administered all the money paid in goes towards paying off the debt.

I do agree though it has to be down to personal choice.
