I can't say for sure but I doubt they are genuine. They are very easily faked and there are many many fakes around. Best way to find out is to contact the people that make them and ask. The Monster-Beats people are very fickle about who they sell to as they do not like discounts being given for such large amounts on their products and so tend to know who they sell to.0

first site I would not touch http://www.scamadviser.com/is-Beatsuksale.com-safe.html
2nd site, they are a legit retailer so I would assume they are the real deal,
but from Beats own website only HMV, John Lewis and DSG (Currys/PC World) are authorised retailers in the UK as such only from them will you be 100% sure you're not buying fakes.
HMV has some colours of the Solo HDs at £124, and cause they are authorised you can be sure you're getting legit ones and that the money is going to the right people.0 -
Thanks for the comments folks. Was dubious about the first one, wasn't sure about second. Other site I have seen at a good price is BHS direct but as you suggest, are they real? WHo knows. Will continue trying to establish if they are possibly by trying to contact beats.
Thanks againIf only I could stop finding good bargains on this site, I would save a fortune! :rotfl:0 -
Don't know if priority moments still has 20% off at HMV but it applies to Beats. I got some for my daughters birthday.0

Do you have an audio visual store that sells hi-fi equipment near you? Try them out first before purchasing if I were you.
The V-Moda Crossfade LPs aren't too bad either apparently. If you find somewhere that sells them near you then maybe try them out as well. These are best suited to DJs and dance music aficionados.
Crossfade LP headphones don't offer the most balanced audio response though and reason why I suggest trying them first.
Cnet have recommend the Crossfade's in the past though their reviews appear ambiguous to be honest. See what you think anyway in comparison to the Beats.
Here's the review if you're interested.0 -
Thanks to both for above comments. Will ask my sis to check priority deal. Have listened to a few headphones incl beats & see then all as way better than in ear ones that we have used to date. Sure there r major differences tho. Elder daughter seen sense & decided against high cost. Younger one still undecided (but because she's hooked on the trend!)If only I could stop finding good bargains on this site, I would save a fortune! :rotfl:0

With Beats you are buying the badge.
My son decided he wanted some for his birthday, despite me saying that you can get better.
I just bought them at Richer Sounds (not discounted, but no hassle).0 -
More or less what I was getting at prowla. Didn't want to appear aggressive saying the were rubbish or anything like that. Instead I thought I throw in an alternative instead.
Also depends on the type of music you like to listen to.0 -
Even the guy in the shop said it.Lugh_Chronain wrote: »More or less what I was getting at prowla. Didn't want to appear aggressive saying the were rubbish or anything like that. Instead I thought I throw in an alternative instead.

But my kid wanted them, so that's what he's got.
(I use Etymotic in-ear plugs, which are really extremely very, very good!)0 -

Totally agree! I'm really into my music and wear decent in-ear earphones, I went through so many cheapo brands before I realised that to some extent price does matter, Sony were the only fairly cheap brand and after a few months they always begin to rattle when being used and need to be swapped for a new pair =false economy.
I then tried to find a set of on-ear headphones last year to keep my ears warm in the snowy weather and I tried a few brands but could not stand the Beats branded versions because they are so bass heavy they totally distort the music. Tunes I loved were painful to listen to. I did find a few decent pairs but they were and still above my budget
Having said that, the Beats branded versions are not the only crime to human ears, other brands can play music back so everyone within a square mile can hear (it would seem). Always listen to them first, for really picky kids who will not listen to reason, either get them to use their own savings or take them to test out a few pairs with a blindfold on (do not allow them to feel for the logo!!)0
