Selling my flat to pay off debts.

Another reason for wanting to sell is that if I sell it should be easier to re-locate to another area. It looks like I am going to have to go where the jobs are. My skills lie mainly in day surgery which is an area which has been affected by NHS cuts - they figure that people can wait to have their veins and vasectomies done.
There are permanent jobs in London, but most of the adverts state that staff currently "at risk" in the Trust will take priority. Rightly so, I might add.
Also, even if I didn't have debts I would still be looking to sell. I live in Barking and it has become really not the kind of place I would want to grow old in.

Bailiffchaser: What is CCA and would it help me to send to my creditors?

Tired nurse. I have read another thread of yours but can't remember your circumstances.

I agree with selling up. And agree that it will mean that you can relocate to some where else.

But have you thought about relocating out of the country? New Zealand is currently looking for nurses of all speicalities. So you would get a job and a new life too! You had 75k left after the sale of your property and then 25k of debt to pay of so 50k left over. Tha is approx 150,000 NZ$, which is either buying a place outright in some parts of NZ or a healthy deposit on something a bit bigger.

Just a different perspective on the problem

In that case tn you're perfectly placed to cash in I'd say! Well done for buying your home when you did, get your money, get rid of the headaches, thank you for doing a great job and good luck for the future!

The government are pretty much trashing nurses at the moment. It is good to hear something nice.

With reference to the above account, I am writing to confirm I am not acknowledging this debt.would you please send me a true copy of this credit agreement. I understand that under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (Sections 77−79), I am entitled to receive a copy of my credit agreement on request and this should be supplied within 12 working days. I enclose a payment of £1.00 which represents the fee payable under the Consumer Credit Act.

Non-compliance with my request is a criminal offence under the above Act and will result in a report being submitted to the relevant statutory authorities.

As you are aware, a credit agreement that is not properly documented and signed by the customer is totally unenforceable under the CCA and therefore is a complete defence to any court claim that is issued.
Please note that under Section 189 you are obliged to supply these documents whether you are the original creditor or not. I await your reply.


if there is no copy of an agreement you can just walk away from that debt as it cannot be enforced. !!!!!

Do this and see what happens you must remeber that technology was not very good 5 years ago 10 years ago it was just starting and 15 years ago it was crap. So big financial institutions make massive !!!! ups. See what happens !!!! As you are not acknowledging it then they cant do a lot !!!!!
