Egg shares, how can I get money back?

I had 200 Egg shares, which I believe now equate to 27 Prudential shares.

However I keep getting some company sending me letters to "help" me transfer and get my money back.

I know Eg is no more, and my fault, I didnt transfer or whatever I was supposed to do. SO now I dont know "where" they are, how I get my money back or anything.

they are only worth about £200, but its a lot of money to me at this time of year especially.

Does anyone know what i can do? who to write to? who to call? how I can prove (I dont have any balance sheet or anything) etc

cheers
