Vanquis card application declined

I managed to get a Flybe card less than a year after being discharged and a Vanquis card two years later. Both accepted first time, although the Vanquis I'm sure I could have got beforehand. However I have applied for a BA Amex card once a year and been declined!

Just hang in there and the time will fly by before you can apply again.

I am sorry you have been turned down for Vanquis, there aren't any guarantees I'm afriad when you apply for credit, whether your background is excellent or not. the lenders use the information on your credit report but also have their own in house lending criteria too. vanquis are known for assisting bad creditors to rebuild their credit though, if there isn't any recent defaults or missed payments on your accounts tht you are currently running, check weith your local council (where you pay council tax) to ensure you're on the electorol roll, cos if you're not, you'll be certainly turned down for credit as you need to be registered at the address you're3 claiming you live at...hope this helps

Oh, and Experian don't recommend you make any more than 2 applications within a 6mth period, as each time you apply for credit it will leave a 9footprint0 on your file which other lenders will see, so too many applications will not go in your favour...as long as it's only Vanquis that you have applied for recently you should be ok.
