£40k in debt - Do I Go Bankrupt?

At the end of the day the one lesson I hope my kids take from us is that the shallow lets paint the room for the 3rd time in 4 years, chuck a perfectly good bit of furniture cos I "need" a new one, chase money and "things" as thats what life is for and anything else is worthless, attitude of current years in many areas-see media for examples is utterly wrong and should be rejected at all costs.
The things to value have to be family, love and health, now ok you have to live, but TBH if the debts are now making you ill and you feel you simply cannot deal with anything but some kind of bankcrupty solution then you need to go for that. If you end up renting forever, but with peace of mind and your family and friends its worth it.
Good Luck
